Meet Scotty
Scotty Martinsen grew up with a rod and rifle in his hands and has spent decades refining his hunting skills throughout the rugged Te Urewera Forest. With over 10 years of outfitting experience in New Zealand’s King Country, Scotty brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to every hunt.
His in-depth understanding of the native bush, animal behaviour, and backcountry terrain is second to none. A dedicated conservationist at heart, Scotty is deeply passionate about preserving New Zealand’s wilderness and contributes wherever possible when time permits.
Scotty is the kind of guide who can walk up a hill with a stag on his back while effortlessly sharing his knowledge of the surrounding wilderness.
Not only will he help you carry your deer out of the hills, but he’ll also cook up a hearty, authentic Kiwi meal at the end of the day — all while sharing a few yarns and enjoying a few well-earned beers after a hard day in the hills.
Scotty is supported by a team of experienced assistant guides when required, each bringing decades of hunting knowledge, bushcraft, and unforgettable stories from the New Zealand backcountry.
